The Applications Developer is required to:

  • Undertake activities in all stages of the Software Development Life Cycle including analysis, design, development, testing and deployment
  • Undertake production support work involving problem solving and troubleshooting errors that arise from the operation of business software systems.
  • Work within a team to support and enable business areas through IT solutions.

Main duties include:

  • Analysis/Design/Code/Test improvements to Import Systems as directed
  • System documentation
  • Software development and change release activities
  • Stakeholder engagement and relationship management with business and technical stakeholders as required
  • Assist troubleshooting and problem resolution activities arising from operational incidents.
  • Assist on BAU development on Imports systems applications
  • Assist with Microsoft Dev ops
  • Backfill and assist on development project work on Imports systems

Skill Set:

  • .NET Framework 2.0 - 4.5, C#.
  • WPF 4.5 for Windows Desktop. Applications, MVVM and related concepts of databinding, validation and layout.
  • WCF (Windows Communication Foundation).
  • SQL Server 2008 T-SQL programming.
  • SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services.
  • TFS (Team Foundation Server) 2010+.
  • MS Visual Studio 2015/2017.
  • DevOps

In order to be successful you MUST have:

  • Experience in delivering projects in a Federal Government environment with proven ability in current best practice techniques, such as continuous integration and testing, and agile development.
  • Experience in conducting peer code review and testing.
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment with strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively liaise with business users and development teams, together with an ability to mentor other members of the development team.

  3. HTML/CSS (essential)
  4. Understand Single Page Application (essential)
  5. GraphQL (preferred)
  6. .Net framework (essential)
  7. .Net Core (essential)
  8. C# (essential)
  9. WCF (essential)
  10. WebApi (essential)
  11. Sql server 2017 and T-SQL (essential)
  12. HTML (5) (essential)
  13. User Interface design (preferred)
  14. Web Services (REST and SOAP) (essential)
  15. Understanding of Accessibility and WCAG (highly regarded)

Contract from November 2020 - November 2021 with 2 x 12 months extension

Applicant MUST be Australian Citizen with Baseline security clearance
