Infrastructure Designer

Overview

  • Solid experience in transition and migration projects and broad infrastructure design capabilities.
  • Responsibility for driving the design in conjunction and assisting the implementation of the IT/infrastructure solution/s targeted to move systems/Data.
  • Strong liaison with various internal and external groups involved to ensure business needs are understood and satisfied.
  • Solid knowledge in current technologies and a proven background in building successful relationships with key business stakeholders.

Responsible for:

  • Producing solution and infrastructure designs (both high level and very detailed) and associated functional specifications.
  • Liase with external agency on transition of solutions, infrastructure, data and systems access
  • Ensuring that chosen technology solutions are convergent in order to take advantage of internal and external needs along with a broad range of service needs.
  • Determining resource and capacity requirements for the solutions. - Dealing with deployment issues in a multi-tier architecture
  • Producing very detailed infrastructure designs including coverage of IP addresses, firewall rules, etc.
  • Documenting deployment infrastructure.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of migration plans.
  • Following mandatory and recommended practices of the reference architects when designing solutions.

Required Experience: (Australian Citizen OR able to get federal security clearances)

  • Experience in Microsoft eco systems (Azure, MS365) and solutions for on premise and cloud services implementations.
  • Experience in AWS eco systems and solution interacting across VPC
  • Capabilities in Linux operating systems, F5 hardware application delivery controllers, Database platforms (MS SQL, Oracle), Enterprise grade storage arrays and networking design are required.
  • Ability to design solutions with a security posture focus against the Australian Signals Directorate Information Security Manual is highly desired
  • Experience and Certification in ITIL V3 processes for Service Strategy, Design, Transition, Operation, and Continual Service Improvements.
  • Experience with creating reference architecture, roadmap, policies, and standard patterns for cloud and hybrid solutions.
