Greythorn Adelaide is currently looking for 2 x Software Architects to join a locally based global Defence clients.

The successful Software Architects will join an Adelaide based, global Defence company and will be responsible for defining the software architecture and Integration solution for an upcoming Defence combat and logistical management platform build. The successful Architects will join a number of other technology domain leads as the key drivers for the chosen solution, working with leads to define, document, prototype and then build a new solution to assit the Australian Department of Defence.


Responsibilities of the Software Architects:

• Performing analysis-of-alternatives study to evaluate software approaches
• Working with other leads to determine software needs across the program
• Working with a software team to develop prototype solutions
• Working with Modelling, Simulation and Analysis teams to assess system performance and scalability potential.
• Authoring technical volume inputs for tender responses
• Providing relevant technical and domain knowledge through mentoring of the broader technical team.
• Mentoring and coaching engineers to author effective and clean code as well as other development practices such as Continuous Delivery

Due to the nature of the work Applicants are required to hold a current or re-instatable NV1 Australian Defence Security Clearance.

Skills required:

• Experience with software containerisation and micro-service technologies
• Leadership experience in designing and documenting system architectures
• Extensive knowledge of software architectures for large enterprise system-of-systems
• Ability to develop and evaluate alternative solutions usingModel Based Systems Development and Model Based Engineering principles
• Coding strengths in JAVA, C++, PYTHON,
• Advanced verbal communication skills including both speaking with and listening to the Customer
