Our reputable client is a large Federal Government Agency, based in the heart of Canberra. They are seeking the services of a proven Policy & Legislative Compliance Officer to support the Modernisation Program Delivery team.
About the Opportunity
- ASAP start in the New Year
- Contract until end June 2021 (plus possible extensions)
- Ability to obtain Baseline Vetting Security Clearance
- Central Canberra location
The role will see you work within a multidisciplinary team to design services and provide advice on legislation compliance/policy analysis. Some of your duties may include:
- Develop in depth knowledge of new subject matter quickly to advise and recommend on policy and legislative matters
- Build effective and solutions driven relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders
- Conducting complex legal and policy analysis to inform the service design of core election systems
- Conduct in depth research and analysis on relevant topics to help inform team outcomes
- Prepare written correspondence such as briefs, reports and proposals
- Provide mentorship and informal training to junior colleagues
About You
You possess 5+ years relevant work experience as a Policy & Legislative Compliance Officer or similar. Additionally, you have:
- Strong written skills that are short, sharp and effective
- Proven ability to interpret, apply and develop clear and concise briefs, reports, proposals
- Proven ability to identify and provide sound advice and recommendations on Policy and legislative compliance matters
- Proven ability to work as part of a collaborative and highly motivated team
- Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality and succinct work
- Effective negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Highly developed judgement, intelligence and common sense
- A commitment to support and promote Program objectives
